It is growing as an important strategic tool among organizations. Social networking sites is the gathering place for a large pool of employees and consumers. Due to the interactive nature of social networking sites, organizations are building and maintaining social networking sites public pages to improve their social network salience, enhance interest in their organizations, and build relationships with the online public. Many studies revealed networking sites generally improves employees’ knowledge, communication skills, learning skills as well as collaboration skills, which is require to enhance the employee performance.
This study investigates the impact of access to social networking sites on employee job performance and employee commitment in Nepalese commercial banks. The study has employed descriptive and causal comparative research design to estimate the relationship between dependent variable such as employee job performance and employee commitment with independent variables (innovative behaviour, absenteeism, turnover intention, job satisfaction, communication, and knowledge sharing). The study is based on primary sources of data. The primary data are used to extract the information from the employees regarding the perception of employee on the various social networking factors affecting employee performance in Nepalese commercial banks. Altogether 18 commercial banks were selected for the study and total of 194 questionnaires were collected. To achieve the purpose of the study structured questionnaire was prepared.
The study reveals that bank employee ranked highest job satisfaction as the most important factor affecting employee performance in Nepalese commercial banks. The correlation matrix shows that innovative behaviour, job satisfaction, and knowledge sharing are positively correlated to employee job performance. On the other hand, turnover intention, absenteeism, and communication are negatively correlated to employee job performance. The results also shows that innovative behaviour, job satisfaction, communication and knowledge sharing are positively correlated to employee

commitment. On the other hand, turnover intention and absenteeism are negatively correlated to employee commitment.
The regression analysis reveals that job satisfaction, knowledge sharing has positive relationship with employee performance indicating higher the level of job satisfaction, and higher the knowledge sharing, higher would be the employee performance. Hence, the banks willing to increase employee job performance and employee commitment are recommended to focus on job satisfaction, and knowledge sharing. The study also concludes that innovative behaviour has significant positive impact on employee performance. The result shows that better innovative behaviour is essence to increase the employee performance. Hence, banks are recommended to focus more on better innovative behaviour in order to increase employee job performance and employee commitment.
Likewise, communication has positive impact on employee commitment. Thus, banks willing to increase employee commitment have to focus more on communication. However, the study found a negative impact of communication on employee job performance of commercial banks. Hence, the commercial banks willing to increase employee job performance should focus more on reducing communication at the work. Similarly, the study found a negative impact of turnover intention and absenteeism on employee performance of commercial banks. Hence, the commercial banks willing to increase employee performance should focus more on retention of employee and reducing absenteeism.
The study remains enough ground for the future researchers in the same topic. The future studies can be done by using both primary and secondary data. In addition to commercial banks, the future study may include other financial and non-financial sector such as development bank, insurance companies, finance companies, hotel and service industries, manufacturing industries, hydro power companies that are listed in NEPSE to make such research work more reliable and valid. The results are thus not representative of all sectors of the economy. The study has employed descriptive and causal comparative research design to estimate the relationship between dependent variable such as academic performance with independent variables (time spent, student addictiveness, use of social networking site for communication and educational use of social networking site). The study is based on primary sources of data. The primary data are used to extract the information from the students regarding the perception impact of social networking site on the academic performance of student. Different students were selected for the study and total of 250 questionnaires were collected. To achieve the purpose of the study structured questionnaire was prepared.
The study shows that there is a negative relationship between time spent on social networking sites and student academic performance. It indicates that higher the amount of time spent on social networking sites, lower would be the student academic performance. The result also shows that student addictiveness is negatively related to the academic performance. It indicates that higher level of addictiveness towards the social networking sites, lower would be the student academic performance. However, the study shows that use of SNS for communication and educational use of social networking sites are positively related to the student academic performance. It reveals that higher level of communication with peers and faculties through social networking

sites, higher would be the academic performance. Similarly, the result indicates that higher the level of educational use of social networking sites, higher would be the student academic performance. The regression results also show that use of SNS for communication and educational use of social networking site have positive impact on academic performance. However, time spent on social networking sites and addictiveness have negative impact on academic performance.
